Suns looking to seriously trade Amare (apparently)
If this is true, and Cleveland was rumored to be talking to them.
What if the Suns just want to start over and Amare for Big Z and a pick does them good? That might end the LeBron sweepstakes right there. Just speculating... ![]() ![]() |

Amare is a problem New York Fans do not want to be apart of.....let the Cavs & Lebron deal with that headache rather than us.

I can't imagine any player not working well with LeBron. It's been proven that Amare and Shaq don't mix too well, evidenced by Suns missing the playoffs last year.

I wasn't suggesting for the Knicks to trade for Amare.
I was speculating what if he did land in Cleveland? What if he played well for them? Cavs would have his bird rights so re-signing him and LeBron would be of no problem cap wise for them. ![]() ![]() |

yeah, amare moving prior to the deadline could have some far-reaching implications, imo.
i viewed him as the most "gettable" star player (along with bosh) this offseason. if he went, you might see a few teams start cashing chips in early. |

I still love the chicken little "OMG what if this happens well never get LeBron, lets blow up the plan now!!!!" that many people take.
Lets take the absolute worst case scenario... lets say we get not a single top flight free agent to sign with us next year. No LeBron, no Wade, no Bosh, etc... As long as we dont pull a chicago bulls move and sign Eddie Robinson or Ben Wallace or whoever to some crazy overpriced contract who cares?!?! The plan was never "We have to get LeBron" ... the plan was "Lets clear out all the crap and get under the cap to give ourselves flexibility ASAP" ... and we are going to accomplish that. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

lol, i didn't mean dallas, though. i think they'll still lay in the weeds hoping damp's unique contract can make them a player for second tier talent.

I think a guy like Amare would thrive with a guy like LeBron. The looks LeBron would create for Amare alone would be great. Plus, LBJ would have someone who can actually finish better than most players in the league.

i think the model for lebron is give him a couple shooters and 4 guys committed to playing defense. amare doesn't fit the latter.

I never bought into that. Layden and Isiahs mistakes had to stop. It just so happens that what Walsh has accomplished has us lined up with a very deep free agent market this summer. It's not an end all to get LeBron. We have the best shot out of anyone other than Cleveland however. If we don't get any of Bosh, Wade, LeBron, Amare, etc... I'm not concerned. We can still land a decent player or two and then look to 2011 and our own draft pick and possible someone like Carmelo. Who btw I think would fit in a D'Antoni offense better than LeBron. I just don't want to pull a post-Jordan Bulls who cleared space but nobody wanted it and they finally gave up and gave Jalen Fucking Rose the max. That's what we can't do. 2010's Jalen Rose is Joe Johnson IMO. So I hope we're careful with that. I guess one thing is there is no Michael Jordan shadow that players would be wary of filling in right away. So it won't be what Chicago faced. ![]() ![]() |

Nah, Bosh for Amare isn't profitable for either club because both players would just walk away from their new teams at the end of the year anyway. That was discussed last year or over last summer and didn't get far. Amare or Bosh if traded would go for expirings, picks, young talent. They won't go for equal talent. They won't go for half talent. Amare for Magette, S.Curry, picks. I mean, that doesn't really do wonders for Phoenix does it? ![]() ![]() |
