What are the two prices? My understanding of arbitration is it either goes to the teams number or the player's number. So if he comes in with 14mill and the giants are 12 mil it's one of those two numbers. Then again, I got this from Mike Bacsik, so I could have a bad source.

I thought arbitration comes up with an independent figure?

In NHL they base arbitration on, Fair Market value if he were a FA, based on what the player is asking for against what the team wants to pay. That's why you get strange amounts like 7.25 million.

I thought MLB was the same?

There are really only three places he could play - San Fran, Oakland, or Seattle.

He needs that damp air to be the most effective.

He has a notoriously higher ERA and BAA in back east games...and even just down the coast in San Diego and LA. I mean, it's still really good for most guys...but it's a considerable difference for him.

He'll prolly play the next 8 or 10 in San Fran then finish up in Seattle.

What's his pitch? I mean for the heavy air to have the most effect?

The league I play in is a fastball and curve league, and the hot dry air out here is perfect for the fastball ... They just take off. There's a few guys here throwing 90-93. Then when we went on a tour down south for the nationals - into the humidity - those guys were throwing 87-88 max ... The heavy air was slowing them down.

Heh, and they got tonked.
