Carter looks good so far. Already in double figures, and is 5/8. Great pass to JJ.

He's not just jacking up horrible shot after horrible shot. He's taken the ball to the hoop a few times and looked strong doing so.

On another note. I do believe that old man shaq has really helped that cleveland team

We'll see how much Shaq has improved them when he has to defend the pick and roll in the playoffs.

Too bad we don't run the pick and roll as often this year and when we do it looks pretty bad.

We can run it effectively with Jameer/Dwight, Vince/Dwight, Vince/Shard and Jameer/Shard. I'm sure Stan knows Shaq's weaknesses and will take full advantage of them if we face them in the playoffs.

Well anything that involves Rashard is a pick and pop and certainly not a roll since he doesn't drive. Any p&r involving Vince as the set up man leaves a whole lot to be desired. As for Jameer, he doesn't finish or draws contact well when contested nor can he shoot over someone. The Turk/Dwight combination was our bread and butter and we ran it to the ground during crunch time. Turk had the height to shoot over people and enhance his ability to pass the ball. He also was good at drawing/feigning contact on the drive. Our pick and roll isn't good right now but here's hoping that it will be come playoff time.

Pick and pop will be just as effective. I don't know who's starting at the 4 for them right now, but I'm sure Varajao or Hickson don't want to come out on Shard. The Cavs can't guard us if we are playing well. Shaq will be a liability on defense against most teams they face in the playoffs. He's too fat and slow nowadays. Jameer was starting to finish a lot better before he got hurt again and defenders can't go under the screen against him. Vince can be effective if he stays focused on attacking the basket. I just don't see the Cavs being able to cover it with Shaq or Ilgauskas in the game. If they play Varajao and Lebron at the 4, they would be much better IMO.

Well we play the Cavs twice in the next few weeks. Last time out, we didn't have Lewis, Anderson or Nelson. This time out, they won't have Mo Williams.

he can... he just has to have the will to drive to the basket to get himself going. VC missed a few fts, last night... it looks to me like he is not following threw. His jump shot is off... he made a couple of 3s but i am not convinced yet. Hopefully these next few games he keeps it up.

He's shooting his jumpers flat-footed. I noticed during this slump that his jumpers were barely hitting the front of the rim sometimes. That's a surefire sign of a guy who isn't jumping or following through on a jumper. Hopefully this game will get him back into a more positive rhythym on offense.

that right.

Most of his misses were ugly short. Seemed like he didnt have enough energy. Would rather jack up a crazy off-balance fall-away jumper than go to the hole. Almost like he wanted a high degree of difficulty in his shot selection. Strange style of play really.

Vince had more effort in his game last nite. Hope it continues.

I think this goes to one of the frustrations people have with Vince. Does he have the same offseason committment that guys like Kobe, Jordan and Lebron have? Or does he let himself ride on his natural talent? If the latter is true, then that would show that his age and lack of speed is starting to get to him.
