Snowy winter....

We had the Dec 19 - 28 inches. We've had 3 3"ers, 4 1-2'inchers.

We just had 18 inches.

They're predicting 18-24 for tomorrow night into Wednesday. Another foot next weekend.

Haven't seen this since oh about 96 I think.

Awesome stuff!

Dec 19: 28 inches:

Feb 6: 18 inches:

WOW. Nice pics! I have a friend in Virginia, he said they usually get 5-7 inches all year. This year, they're buried in it...

We've had basically no snow so far in Toronto. My wife and I were just talking this morning how we haven't had a chance to take any winter pictures of the kids yet.

So, yeah..... I guess I'm split between being jealous and wanting to point and laugh.

Yeah you guys in Toronto get robbed during patterns like this. You'll be back in the thick of things next year as La Nina sets back up.

This El Nino pattern has been perfect to give VA to NJ the bulk of the storms - and in doing that has shut off even the Clippers you guys usually get up there.

So you're going to be a bit on the drought stricken side this season I fear. After the winter passes expect a hot and dry summer up in TOR as well.

Probably enough for drought restrictions.

===

Thanks, Cap'n. Yeah, it's been great this year. Pushing 60" for the year already. Will post pics of the new storm as well when it's over.

Been shoveling so much snow. Our driveways here are about the kind you can pack 4 cars into. But, I shovel mine, my heart attack neighbors, and the widow's across the street.

So, well, ouch. Especially given I'll be doing it again just 3 days removed from the last time.

Are you literally shoveling? Hand shoveling? Damn. I grew up in Ohio and was really young and in great shape, but those big eastern Ohio wet snowfalls were brutal. Of course, we never owned a snow thrower that was worth a damn, so hand shoveling was it. But it was all I could manage.

You've got a machine, right? You're not doing all this by hand are you??

No, I hate snow blowers. I shovel by hand and love every minute of it. It's a great workout for a season that you don't have much chance to be in shape - sans going to a gym - which I would never do because it's boring as hell. You even "zen" as you snow shovel. I can't get enough of it.

So snow shoveling is my winter workout to stay in shape for the spring-summer-fall outdoor work.

Yeah, VA-MD-DE-PA-NJ has been the target with this particular el nino setup.

Seems like the pattern is shifting a bit northward now for DE-PA-NJ-NY-CT-RI-MA however.

I live in cookie cutter suburban hell. Exit 102.

Yeah, up north has been robbed, but you'll get into it this go around. 6-12 I think.

Models are flip flopping around but I think I'll see a solid 18 down here and you guys will see about 8-10.
